BIOGRAPHY

One of Canada's top Voice coaches, Trish is also an accomplished actor and director. Originally trained as an actor in the BFA Program at U of Windsor, Trish performed for several years in the east at such venues as Toronto Free Theatre, Factory Theatre, Theatre Plus, YPT and Magnus Theatre NW as well as in radio, film and TV; before returning to full-time training - earning an MFA from York U in Performance while also training as a Voice Teacher with Master teacher David Smukler. In 1987 Trish was awarded a Canada Council Grant to intensify her training by participating in both The National Voice Intensive and the summer Intensive at Shakespeare & Co with Kristin Linklater in Lennox, Mass. between her 1st and 2nd years of Graduate School.

Trish has been teaching Voice, Speech, Dialects and Text for 20 years at York U, U of Regina, & UBC; and has created Voice programs in several private training facilities including Schoolcreative, Gastown Actor's Studio and WDC. She has directed numerous professional and student productions including Savage In Limbo, Dolores, Much Ado About Nothing, As You Like It, The Big Funk, Escape From Happiness, Waiting For Godot and Of The Fields Lately; and coached dozens of productions.

As a founding member of The Mentor's Co-op, Trish appeared as The Nurse in Romeo and Juliet and Dockdaisy in Arturo Ui. Other favourite local productions include Sleepwalker, Home Front, Italian American Reconciliation, Peer Gynt and Picnic. She was also honoured to take part in several staged readings with Savage God/The Shakespeare Project. Trish continues her commitment to her own continuing training in all disciplines.
